Price Raise Effective October 1st

This post is written by Sarah – so no big “Sweet Libertine” announcement.. something like this I want it to be on a more personal level so everyone understands what is going on and feels free to ask questions.

We have been contemplating a price raise for a while. Our eyeshadows have been $5 for over a year now. In that year, though, our experience has grown by leaps and bounds with more research, better ingredients, and growth. The work load that Sweet Libertine had when the eyeshadows were first released for $5 was minimal compared to the work load now.. because we were so brand new, we didn’t work on custom blends, complex colors, or deep intensity. Over the last year we have worked hard to create dozens of custom blends that offer complexity and depth, but this has made our costs for producing the products much higher than when Sweet Libertine was born. Because of this, we are going to be restructuring our prices. All glitters, blushes, and Buckets o’ Concealer will remain at the current price. Sample packs will also remain at the same price.

For the mineral eyeshadows, the price will range from $5-$8. In short – there will be a “Classics” collection at $5, a Sweet Libertine Exclusive collection at $6, and glitter/eyeshadow combos at $8.

In detail:

Classics – these colors are colors that are unblended or are popular sellers with beginners. The price will remain $5.

This line will include:

This list may grow as we restructure things.

The Exclusive Collection – This will include any mineral eyeshadows that are not listed above. These eyeshadows will be $6. Eyeshadow sets will raise dependent on how many eyeshadows it contains from the above list.

Glitter/Eyeshadow Combinations – This includes any mineral eyeshadow that contains glitter like Precious Cargo and Oldest Profession. The price on these eyeshadows will be $8.

Paraben Free Under Eye Concealer – 5 gram jar (the smaller ones) – the price will be $7. Buckets o’ Concealer will remain the same price.

When we began discussing a price raise, I was hesitant. I started Sweet Libertine because I was angry at the cost of quality cosmetics, right? But then I realized that while the price would raise – by $1 – the products are improving at such a rate that it would be worth the price raise. What do I mean? I mean a slightly higher price will give us the ability to deepen our research and development and give us more flexibility to create. We will still have free samples, big sales, and new products rolling out. But also keep an eye out for lipsticks and other face powders – like I said, we’ve been busy!

This also means – stock up now during the sale! This will be the last time that prices will be this low. For more info on the sale, check out this blog post.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at sarah@sweetlibertine.com or comment here. I hope I have explained things well, but if not, let me know!

Much love,

Sarah

<3 I feel the price increase and the manner in which you've chosen to implement it is quite fair. I will continue sharing my love of your product with anyone who will listen:-)
Thank you both for taking the time to continue to grow and improve the product line…yet another reason to love Sweet Libertine:-)

I think the prices are incredibly fair, considering the pricing tiers you’ve set up.
