We carry a few eyeshadows that were made specifically for Amanda Fucking Palmer. (Go buy her new album over here, it’s awesome. And there might be an eyeshadow in the works for it.) She’s a very talented, multifaceted artist, and both my fans and her fans seem to love the mineral eyeshadow sets. There’s one set, Leeds United, that people feel timid trying due to it’s bright colors. First, watch the video for the inspiration:
We decided to go with the predominate colors in the video – blue and yellow/gold.
There are two colors in this set – Oxidize, which is the gold color, and Wicked, which is the blue. For a beginner, I can see where the colors would be intimidating, even scary. But that’s the wonderful thing about using mineral makeup – it’s flexible. You can make it as dark as you want or you can blend it down until you barely see it. So, I’ve decided to do a pretty subdued Face of the Day using this set.
This look uses Oxidize on the lid, and Wicked blended into the crease (link to set). I used Glacier as a brow bone highlight.
When you blend Wicked into the crease, concentrate on the main part of the crease, not straying to far away from it. After that, you can blend it upwards and outwards a bit. I then lined the upper lid with Copper Penny, and the bottom lid with a black eyeliner pencil.
This set would also blend well with eyeshadows like Lady Be Good, Oasis, or Cafe au Lait.
