I am very, very happy to announce that the eBay auctions raised $196 for my dental bills! Thank you, everyone who helped, bid, or contributed – it helped so much!
As for my teeth, it seems like I’m rounding home plate. I’ve had a lot of dental work done, and Monday and Tuesday I was back at the dentist. On Monday I went to get the last tooth pulled, but they were able to save that tooth. I got 3 huge fillings that day – that was rough! I have a small mouth so they have a hell of a time getting to the molars. Then on Monday night I had very, very severe nerve pain – to the point that the pain killers weren’t touching it. So I went back on Tuesday – I wanted them to pull the tooth that hurt, but they said it was actually the tooth behind it that was making it hurt. Apparently that tooth was so far gone it was inflamed, and the roots were curled, hitting the nerves in front of it. It also had an extra root? But they spent a good 15 minutes getting it out – it was *not* fun, and my mouth and jaw are really beat up but (as long as no surprises pop up) we are done with pulling teeth. I can tell that I need to go back and get a filling filed down because it hits another tooth when I bite down but luckily they guarantee everything for a year so there will be no charge for that. For the major work left I have one large filling, and I need to get my partial and that will happen when the swelling from the last pulled tooth goes down. After that I have 2 small fillings on the bottom that need to be done – but they are small and don’t cause pain so I can take a few weeks to recover from everything before they go back in.
Even though I am currently missing teeth and I am sore as hell it is such a relief to have those teeth gone and not have to worry about them crumbling. I don’t want to be sappy but I can honestly say that this has changed my life – I have lived so long with bad and painful teeth that the thought of eating cereal, or popcorn, or bacon without pain just thrills me. You guys helped make it possible, and for that, I thank each and every one of you. I love you all.
<3,
Sarah
PS: Because of the dental work and the resulting pain killers (that make me loopy) email response time and shipping time has been slower than normal. I like to get out orders within 1-2 days, and right now that hasn’t been happening. Justin has been doing everything possible (and I love him so much for that), but if I owe you an email or order I will make sure that happens ASAP. The Eyeshadow of the Month Club will be shipped today – they are packed and ready to go in the Post Office Bag we use. Also.. for the Deluxe EOTM members.. I sent Justin out for chocolate, right? I wanted to put some treats in the packages. So he comes home with Dove chocolate, which is awesome – but it’s Christmas candy. According to him “it was on sale” (hey, I can’t blame him at all for that), but I’m kind of embarrassed to send out red and green wrapped candy. But, we made sure to taste test numerous pieces and I can assure you of their freshness
Also be prepared for handy household hints from Martha Stewart, as she has a “helpful holiday tip” printed on the inside of each wrapper. Now there’s a collaboration I never thought of! Did you know that spiced apple cider helps spread holiday cheer? Me neither, but now I do – thanks, Martha!
